Other Ways to Participate

There are many ways your company can take part in the Corporate Readiness Training Program besides offering a work experience placement.

The Company Level

Here are three examples of innovative partnerships between CRTP and local companies:

TRICO Homes

Since 2007, TRICO homes has awarded a scholarship, which is for the full amount of the tuition for CRTP, to 5 CRTP students. This has allowed these students to benefit from the program and start their careers here in Canada.

Jacqueline and Desmond Lai Award

The Lai Family has donated funds to CRTP to support the incremental costs associated with travelling to a work experience placement outside Calgary. This was awarded to one individual from the January 2009 intake who secured a work placement in Edmonton.

United Way of Calgary

The United Way and Bow Valley College are partnering on the development of an IP mentorship program to be run out of CRTP.

If your company would like to assist the CRTP in a special way, either in addition to or instead of offering a work experience placement, please contact us to discuss the matter further.

The Individual Level

We welcome the participation of community leaders and volunteers in the program.

In the classroom

  • volunteering in the classroom to share your knowledge and experiences with the class
  • presenting to the group on workplace issues
  • leading small group discussions on various job finding topics

One on one

  • volunteering for the mentoring program
  • working one on one to help facilitate their understanding of Canadian business culture
