TOWES (Test of Workplace Essential Skills)
In the CRTP Unit we strive to ensure our students are work ready and one way we do this is through evaluation and assessment. TOWES, The Test of Workplace Essential Skills. is used to assess skiil. This is a very practical, workplace focused evaluation that tests a person's ability to find and use information in real workplace documents. TOWES helps us diagnose and train for skills gaps caused by language, different divisions of labor in other countries, and organization of documentation. The scores listed below are the Post-CRTP scores. The post training scores will be entered in early November. For more information about TOWES please visit www.towes.com.
A score of 3 in all three areas is considered a very strong score and work ready.
Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)
The Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks is the centre of expertise in support of the national standards in English and French for describing, measuring and recognizing second language proficiency of adult immigrants and prospective immigrants for living and working in Canada.CRTP uses this national standard to assess and inform instruction. The focus is to build and develp the language needed to function in the Calgary Corporate Workplace. The standard for most occupations and considered work ready is a minumum of 7 in all 4 areas; reading, writing, listening and speaking.
