CRTP in the News

Talented CRTP grads are ready for Canadian work experience.

September 27th, 2011

Our internationally trained professionals have finished their first five weeks of the Corporate Readiness Training Program (CRTP) and are almost ready for work experience placement. Within the program, our students’ learn about current resume techniques, job interviews, and about our unique Canadian culture.

This year we have 15 professionals with experience in accounting, architecture, project management, marketing, and various engineering backgrounds. We even have a food technologist and a business analyst.

When does the six-week work placement begin?

Our clients are available for six-week work experience placement beginning November 7 and ending December 16, however these dates are flexible. The CRTP program is funded by the Government of Alberta and results in numerous benefits to both the CRTP students and participating employers.

What is the benefit of taking on an immigrant professional for work placement?

There are many benefits for participating employers. For your company this would include:

  • The chance to help a new Canadian enter the workforce at little to no cost or risk
  • The international experience and expertise of the participant for six weeks, 30-40 hour a week, free of charge
  • An excellent opportunity to observe the participants’ skills and assess his or her suitability for employment with your company
  • Bow Valley College’s acceptance of all liability for the participant, including Workers Compensation Board coverage

How do we get started?
